Topic of the lecture: Internet of Things: in practice, Articles and lectures on the Internet of Things (IoT) enjoy immense popularity. They are full of sophisticated words, forecasts of research companies, and the authors' excitement. However, when you read further with excitement, in search for any concrete information, you get disappointed and disillusioned - there is no concrete information. Not many people dealt with IoT alone, hence the lack of practical advice, revision of opinions, or any evidence of successful transfer of the idea to useful applications. We decided to roll up our sleeves, and find out whether IoT will change the world. CapgeminiSoftwareSolutionsCenter created an innovative system of the location of objects inside the buildings of their branch in Wrocław. We used Beacons, modern developer tools (among others, Spring Boot, AngularJS, Microsoft Azure) and a lot of our own ideas. If you want to learn what we have achieved, what to avoid when starting your own IoT project, and what may become a positive surprise, come to the TechTalk with Capgemini. It will be interesting, sometimes very technical, but, above all, practical. The speaker is the employee of the WrocławSoftwareSolutionsCenter, Hubert Nafalski. Please join us!
