Poznań With The EuropaProperty Award

The aim of the competition is to draw attention to the dynamic development of investment markets in Central and Eastern Europe and the achievements of individual companies from the commercial real estate industry.
The members of the EuropaProperty jury are managers and specialists from leading Polish and foreign companies and institutions in the real estate, finance and banking, production, modern technologies, as well as logistics and trade sectors. By awarding Poznań the title of the City of the Year, the jurors appreciated, i.a. the unflagging - despite the pandemic - pace of investment implementation in Poznań, carried out by the City as well as other private or institutional investors.
- This is an important distinction, especially in such a difficult time - says Jacek Jaśkowiak, Mayor of the City of Poznań. - During the pandemic, we had to make many difficult decisions in order to be able to continue implementing important investments for the City of Poznań and its residents. The award proves that it was the right thing to do.
The Investor Relations Department is responsible for keeping in contact and building relationships with representatives of the real estate industry in Poznań on a daily basis, providing the necessary support at every stage of the investment.
In 2020 and 2021, many important municipal investments in sports and recreation infrastructure were completed in Poznań. It includes, i.a. the modernization of sports grounds in Golęcin or the Malta Regatta Course, expansion of the Wartostrada, construction of a new swimming pool on the Zwycięstwa Housing Estate. Road and transport investments were also completed, e.g. the modernization of the road and stairs at the Szymanowskiego tram stop, or the construction of a new tram route along Unii Lubelskiej st. with the loop. It is also worth mentioning the key investments for Poznań: reconstruction of the Rataje roundabout, the next stages of the Centrum Program (a project of revitalisation in the city centre), or the construction of the tram route to Naramowice. The city also financed a new animal shelter built by PEKABEX, awarded in the Top Municipal Investments 2021 competition. Moreover, in 2021, the Enigma Cipher Center which was co-financed by the City of Poznań, University of Adam Mickiewicz and the European Union was launched.
The other extremely important investment for POznań culture was the construction of the new place for the Polish Dance Theatre at Taczaka st. The project was financed by the Self-Government of the Wielkopolska Region and the Wielkopolska Regional Operational Program 2014+.
A lot has also happened in the commercial real estate market in Poznań. In the Nowy Rynek residential and service complex, Skanska has completed the third building out of five planned ones. The construction of numerous housing developments in various parts of the city has also been completed. The quality of these projects is evidenced by the Jan Baptista Quadro award for the best architectural project in Poznań in 2020. This title was received by "Nowy Strzeszyn", a residential estate designed by the Insomnia studio and built by Area Development.
The difficult epidemic situation did not affect the pace of preparation of Poznań municipal real estate for sale or otherwise available. The city is currently promoting 16 investment plots, which are mostly intended for housing or residential and service development. The offer also includes land with an exclusive service, industrial and service function, or areas where parking lots may be built.
The attractiveness of the city's investment areas is evidenced by the interest in tenders held in September and October. The area of Obodrzycka and Garaszewo streets were sold for a total amount of PLN 34 million. By the end of this year, there will be at least one more tender for the sale of real estate intended for service development, in a very attractive location - at the Rataje roundabout.
The EuropaProperty award gala was preceded by the CEE Investment & Manufacturing Awards & CEO Investments Forum. The four-panel discussions focused on the future of the commercial real estate market in Europe, especially in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as current threats to business, digitization, trends in the office, logistics and warehouse market or in retail.
