Beiersdorf opens expanded Production Center in Poznan: Strategic center for global innovation and delivery in skin care

The official opening of the new part of the plant took place on June 6, 2025 in Poznań. The event was attended by representatives of local and regional authorities, including Deputy Mayor of Poznań Natalia Weremczuk and Deputy Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region Jacek Bogusławski. Also present were representatives of the company's management headed by CEO Vincent Warnery and Alvaro Alonso Managing Director for Eastern Europe, as well as Natalia Koryzna - Director of Beiersdorf Manufacturing Poznań.
The ceremony was a symbolic culmination of a multi-phase project that not only significantly increased the manufacturing potential of the Poznań center, but also strengthened its role as a strategic innovation and distribution center on an international scale. The inauguration ceremony marks a milestone in the company's nearly 100-year history in Poland: the €300 million investment will double the factory's production capacity, create more than 200 new jobs and position Beiersdorf Manufacturing Poznań Sp. z o.o. as one of the most important and innovative production facilities in the company's global network. "This significant investment fully supports Beiersdorf's growth ambitions, strengthening our global manufacturing network and ensuring reliable, resilient supply chains in a dynamic market environment," said Vincent Warnery, CEO of Beiersdorf. "The expansion is not just an operational achievement based on state-of-the-art manufacturing - it's a long-term investment in the future of skin care and in our local partnerships and the Poznan community."
Heritage and history: 100 years of experience in skin care in Poznań
Beiersdorf's history in Poznan dates back to 1929, when construction began on the company's first manufacturing plant in Poland. In the 1930s, the Poznań factory became one of Beiersdorf's largest plants in the world. An important moment came in 2009, when the manufacturing center in Poznań was spun off as an independent company under the name Beiersdorf Manufacturing Poznań Ltd. Today, strong brands such as NIVEA, Eucerin and Bambino, which consumers have trusted for generations, come from Poznań. The factory is one of the largest and longest-operating Beiersdorf plants in Europe, and its products go to more than 100 markets around the world, including Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
Strategic growth and expansion: Double the power, drive regional development
The €300 million expansion of the plant began in 2020 and was completed in 2025 - without having to stop production. Thanks to the investment, production capacity has been doubled and now stands at 500 million units per year. Of this, 68% goes to European markets and 32% to non-European markets, including South Africa, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Argentina and the United Arab Emirates. The plant's area has been increased 3.5 times, allowing for six additional production lines and a state-of-the-art microbiology laboratory. In addition, 200 new jobs have been created, bringing the workforce to more than 700 full-time positions. The project translates not only into an increase in employment, but also into lasting support for the region's economic development. "This is an investment that strengthens Poznań's position on the economic map of Europe. I have been following the development of Beiersdorf for years and appreciate the fact that our city remains an important partner for the company in implementing its long-term business plans. Poznań is a stable, well-connected and open to innovation place that offers a high quality of life and access to qualified specialists." - added Jacek Jaskowiak, Mayor of Poznań. The factory was awarded the Pillars of Business of Greater Poland award in 2024 in the "Reliable Employer" category, reflecting Beiersdorf's commitment to quality jobs and support for the local community.
Innovation and leadership in skin care: a global hub for advanced care
As a key center of facial care innovation in Beiersdorf's global manufacturing network, the Poznan plant plays a vital role in achieving the company's ambitious goals in the face and body care categories. It manufactures advanced product forms such as pipettes, foams and gels, as well as patented active ingredients including Thiamidol® and Epicelline® - continuing the tradition of breakthrough skin care innovation that began with coenzyme Q10 in 1998. "We are proud to deliver world-class innovations from Poznan, supporting Beiersdorf's more than 140-year history of innovative skin care and research. Our success in Poland is based on technological excellence and manufacturing expertise, combined with the trust that consumers have in our iconic brands NIVEA and Eucerin, as well as the locally beloved Bambino brand," added Natalia Koryzna.
Sustainability and community involvement
Beiersdorf Manufacturing Poznań remains deeply rooted in the local community. The plant conducts environmental initiatives in the areas of water and energy conservation, waste management and tree planting in cooperation with the National Forest Service. Employees have worked more than 3,800 hours as part of Beiersdorf's global Care Beyond Skin Day volunteer program. The company also actively supports talent development in cooperation with the Poznan University of Technology.
