Ships from Danish shipping and logistics company DFDS have for many years been passing by the Polish coastline en route between the Western and Eastern Baltic Sea. Now, DFDS has decided to go ashore in Poland by establishing a finance service centre in Poznan.

DFDS is a growing company and has been looking for ways to improve the efficiency and consistency of the quality of the Group's financial services that are today spread between locations throughout Europe.  It has therefore been decided to bring our shared financial services  under one roof in one service centre.

"We investigated many potential sites for the new centre, but through our studies it became evident that Poznan is the location that best meets our requirements. It offers the right  combination of finance people with the required skills, a good infrastructure and cost levels. It is also centrally placed in relation to our business and growth areas, says Group CFO Torben Carlsen.

DFDS has named the new centre DFDS Poznan. It is expected to start operating at the end of Fall 2013, but as  the new employees  will need to be trained before the opening, DFDS has already started interviewing candidates for the new positions.

The company Randstad Professionals was chosen to be the sole partner within the HR area. The company is responsible for the recruitment of the entire team. ""The project assumes the employment of 80 accountants in the first phase of the development of the enterprise and the group of senior managers, whom the Danish Board will entrust with the task of co-creating the shape of the organization. The company searches for experts with the experience in the field of payables, receivables and ledger, with the knowledge of the English language on the fluent communication level. We are also interested in contact with the experts who have the knowledge of other European languages", says Magdalena Celmer, Regional Manager  Randstad Professionals. The recruitment process is conducted dynamically and is very effective: after a month from the commencement of works on the project first experts in the field of finances and accounting received the employment offers in the DFDS Poznan.

"Previous communication and cooperation with DFDS shows that it is a stable, strong organization with ambitious plans of the development within the area of Northern Europe, with effective communication and with high level of care about the quality in each dimension.", comments Leszek Kurycyn, Operation Director of Randstad Professionals.

The ideal location of the new accounting centre became therefore the capital of Wielkopolska: "We have been very pleased with the positive way we have been met by the Poznan city council, and for the support and assistance we have received. This underlines that we have made the right choice with Poznan, and it is very promising  for the future of our finance service centre in Poznan," says Torben Carlsen/Jesper Mikkelsen Heilbuth.

Mayor of Poznań, Ryszard Grobelny highlights: "For us the most important are new jobs in Poznan. DFDS example shows that  also for investors the fact  that Poznan tries to attract new jobs, is important. We are proud that a company, which is a symbol of Northern Europe, has chosen Poznan to place its financial centre. We will do everything to make sure that  DFDS feels in Poznań as much as at home. "

"DFDS financial centre in Poznan is one of the first such investments from the logistics sector in Poland. Looking at market trends, I have noticed a large potential for similar projects. I believe that good experience of DFDS will help Poznan  to attract new investors", adds Marcin Przyłębski,  Investor Relations Department in  City of Poznan.
