Dr. Matthew D. Skint, ABPP is a certified health psychologist and an assistant professor at Roosevelt University in Chicago. He is a certified trainer of ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), therapy based on functional analysis (FAP) and self-compassion improvement training (CCT). He conducts research and offers acceptance and mindfulness training and self-compassion therapy (CBT) to LGBTQIA+ people around the world. Together with Aisling Leonard-Curtin, he edited a book in 2016 entitled "Mindfulness and acceptance of gender and sexual minorities: a clinical guide to supporting compassion, bond, and equality using contextual strategies." In 2020 "Contextual behavioral therapy for LGBTQIA+ clients" was released under his editorship.
