Prof. Naiming Xie (China) 16.03.2016

Poznań University of Technology and the City of Poznań would like to invite for an open lecture of Professor Naiming Xie. The lecture shall be entitled: "Grey information, grey models and grey world?" and will take place on the 16 March 2016 at 13.30 in the Lecture - Conference Centre of the Poznań University of Technology at Piotrowo Street 2, in room CW8.

Professor Naiming Xie belongs to the youngest generation of scientists involved in the development of the Gray Systems Theory. He works in the prestigious Institute of Theory of Gray Systems operating under structures of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He performs the function of secretary of the Association of Gray Systems Studies in China and deputy editor of Grey Systems: Theory and Application scientific magazine. He was the author of the most often quoted article on the theory of Gray Systems in the Grey Systems: Theory and Application magazine in the years 2011-2013 and in Applied Mathematical Modelling magazine in the years 2007-2011.

The majority of his scientific research are conducted on the basis of uncertain incomplete and scarce data. Gray Systems Theory (GST) creates the grounds for examination of complex technical, economic and social systems on the basis of incomplete information on their structure and behaviour. The main directions of GST studies are: gray numbers algebra, operators of smoothening numeric data sequence, grey analysis of relations, gray taxonomic methods, gray decision-making, forecasting models, gray linear programming, grey theory of games, hybrid models connecting GST with other data analysis methodologies.
