The Poznań University of Medical Sciences and the City of Poznań invite you to an open lecture by Prof. Roman Jaeschke on "Evidence based medicine (EBM) - does it guarantee good care over patients?" The lecture will take place on 24 May at 2 p.m., in the Wincent Jezierski room (entrance D, 3rd floor) in the University Hospital of Lord's Transfiguration of the Karol Marcinkowski Poznań University of Medical Sciences, ul. Długa 1/2.

Prof. Roman Jaeschke received the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 1981 at the Medical University in Kraków. He then received his PhD in pharmacology at the Heidelberg University (Germany) in 1982. He did his next specialty in internal medicine at the McMaster University in 1988, Hamilton, Canada.

His scientific interests focus on developing practical clinical guidelines, measuring the quality of life of the population and various aspects of teaching methods related to evidence-based medicine. He actively participates in the process of creating clinical guidelines in cooperation with several international associations (ATS, ACCP, SCCM). He is a member of the editorial teams of the American College of Physicians Journal Club, the Journal of Evidence-Based Medicine and the Polish Archives Internal Medicine, a reviewer in several scientific journals (including the Lancet, the Journal of American Medical Association). Prof. Jaeschke is a respected academic teacher and lecturer, and one of the most often quoted scientists in the world in 2015 and 2016.
