Prof. Bozena Michniak-Kohn (USA) - 15.11.2021

The Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poznań and the City of Poznań invite to an open lecture by Prof. Bozena Michniak-Kohn entitled "Understand your skin to stay healthy."

The lecture will be held on November 15, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Congress and Didactic Center, 37a Przybyszewskiego Street.

Bozena Michniak-Kohn is an associate professor of the pharmaceutical sciences at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and the founder and director of the CDR Center for the Dermal Research at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in Piscataway (New Jersey, USA). Her main area of research interest is topical, transdermal and buccal drug administration. Prof. MICHNIAK-KOHN has over 40 years of experience in designing and optimiaing the topical preparations and transdermal patches.

Prof. Michniak-Kohn graduated with honors from the pharmaceutical studies in Great Britain, where she then defended her doctoral thesis with a Ph.D. in pharmacology. So far, she has been the promoter of over 60 doctoral and master's theses, which resulted in about 170 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 470 summaries, and 41 books and book chapters. She is a member of 10 editorial boards of renowned scientific journals, several advisory scientific boards, the prestigious Board of Trustees at TRI Princeton and a reviewer of papers submitted to over 50 pharmaceutical journals. In recognition of the achievements, Prof. MICHNIAK-KOHN was awarded in 2008 the status of an Honorary Member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS Fellow).

               Prof. For many years, Michniak-Kohn has also been working closely with the industrial sector, which resulted in numerous implementations of study results of her teams by pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies, as well as specialised courses, workshops and conferences organised by the CDR, opening new spaces for knowledge transfer at the academy-business border.
